Samsung Mobile are one of the most innovative mobile manufacturers of today, they have introduced new and exciting features into their handsets way before the competition and always strive to release their latest projects straight out of the research and development departments.

Samsung were the first company to offer the smooth slide design some 4 years ago which has now become their most recognised trademark in the industry. Dozens of their models feature the slide action which keeps the keypad protected from the elements and makes for easy call answering with the flick of a thumb.

The manufacturers latest release offers this and many more features packed into a minimalist design casing, at first glance it could be mistaken for a popular LG chocolate phone but on closer inspection it is smaller, sleeker and more compact.

It is the new Samsung J600 which with its slim design and chrome outer casing makes for a stylish but affordable new phone.

The outer casing is finished with a metallic paint giving the handset a feel of quality and expense, the touch sensitive buttons just below the screen blend in beautifully and are complimented with a multi-directional slection button for easy menu navigation whilst the handset is in the closed position.

Pushing the smooth slide up with your thumb reveals a perfectly symetrical keypad surrounded by a different shade of the phones colour with soft touch keys which feel comfortable whilst texting, the screen comes to life with a 128 x 160 pixels resolution, 65,000 colours TFT display.

The Samsung J600 features the new EDGE technology allowing for fast download speeds of up to 236.8 kbps for new mobile content such a games, ringtones and wallpapers. Other connectivity can be found via Bluetooth with wireless connections to compatible devices for easy over-the-air file sharing with friends and colleagues.

The J600 offers a 1.3 megapixel camera with built-in flash plus support for video recording and playback, this is not the most powerful camera available on mobile phones, however for snapping quick and fun snaps for sharing it is more than adequate.

The all important MP3 Player has not been left out of the feature set, ideal for uploading, creating playlists and listening to your favourite tracks and albums and with access to an expandable memory using MicroSD cards there is plenty of storage for files, applications, music, photos and video clips.

This is a very light and manageable handset weighing just 92g and offering overall dimensions of 97 x 44 x 15 mm, the J600 will fit into most pockets with ease.

Samsung have released three versions of this stylish little phone, the Samsung J600 Black, Samsung J600 Blue and the Samsung J600 Pink. The latter is without doubt one of the best looking female orientated phones to date, most other pink phones available on the market today are extremely 'plasticky', in comparison the smooth metallic pink finish of the J600 is far more refined and classy.

The Samsung J600 Blue was the first of the three models to be released and is already available on Orange, O2 and Vodafone. The Black abd Pink versions are far more recent editions and at present are both available on Vodafone.
